Biscuit Roti (or Biscut Rotti) is a popular, crispy, and slightly sweet-spicy deep-fried snack from Coastal Karnataka/Udupi cuisine, often called the “South Indian Sister of Kachoris”. It consists of a maida or wheat dough stuffed with a spiced mixture of roasted urad dal, coconut, and spices, resulting in a flaky, biscuit-like texture.
The biscut roti served here was warm and freshly made. It was puffed up and looked like a puri or kachodi. The flavour was heavenly with a perfect blend of sweet, salt and spice with each bite melting in the mouth. There was no accompaniment with the biscut roti and neither did we feel its requirement.
