Patholi (Sweet Rice Dumplings Steamed In Turmeric Leaves) is a konkani sweet dish made with rice. Rice is ground into a thick batter and spread on a turmeric leaf which is then filled with a sweet coconut filling. The leaves are folded together and steamed. The turmeric leaves impart their heavenly aroma and flavour to these rice dumplings.

We tried Patholi in Ayodhya and found it to be very unique and good in taste. It was wrapped in turmeric leaf and had a thin filling of coconut and jaggery.

It is open from 6 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Saturday (closed on Sunday). It is a very old restaurant and has maintained the traditional look and feel.
