Sabudana Vada hereĀ  is crispy, crunchy, golden brown in color and cooked to perfection (neither too brown and overcooked nor sticky and undercooked). It is served with thetcha (green chillie paste) and kakdi koshambir (cucumber raita).

Sabudana Vada is one of the most famous Maharashtrian snacks eaten specially during fasting days. It is made up of tapioca pearls, potatoes and peanuts. Although the recipe is simple, it is very difficult to prepare a perfect sabudana vada – the proportion of sabudana vrs potato has to be just right and it has to be cooked optimally, else it becomes either too chewy and sticky or too brown and hard.

Restaurant Description

It is a small thela in the main JM road as well as near Mandai. Although it sells a number of snack items like samosa, vada pav and bread pattice, sabudana vada is the most popular item. Since it is a small thela, you have to eat the snacks standing only. Beware of large queue specially in the evening and week-ends.
