The speciality of this roti is its so soft. The ghee is not too much nor too less and makes the roti melt in your mouth. The dal fry is very flavorful and can be eaten with the roti or with rice. You can try the ghee roti with a vegetable of your choice also. Chaas is very good and it was served to us out of a Kingfisher beer bottle! There were very good reviews of some of the vegetable dishes there like Baigan Bharta and Bhindi Fry, but they were not available in the restaurant when we went in the month of Sep. We were told that those vegetables would be available during Dec/Jan time. We tried their paneer dish, but it was not up to our expectations.

Restaurant Description

Bhagat Tarachand is an iconic name in Mumbai. Started in 1895 in Karachi (erstwhile in India), this is supposedly one of the oldest veg restaurants in Mumbai.Nested in the middle of the busy Zaveri Bazaar, this restaurant feels reasonably big in its surroundings. Don't expect an ambience here given its a legacy restaurant thats been around for many years. With many branches all over town now (owned by different brothers), you can try these dishes in other locations too.
