Can Try

Ghavan and Taak(Buttermilk)

NRH Badshaahi serves a variety of maharashtrian snacks including a large variety of upvaas (fasting) snacks. We tried few snacks and found ghavan and taak(buttermilk) to be very good. Ghavan is simple and flavourful and is served along with potato bhaji, curd and rassa(gravy). Each of these accompaniments are extremely flavourful and have unique puneri taste. Taak(buttermilk) at badshaahi is one of the best we have ever had, so don’t forget to order it after you are done with the snacks. You can also try Batata toast (potato dumpling) which is one of the upvaas items and very unique in toast. It is filled with potato, kopra (dessicated coconut) and green chutney. Ghavan is a traditional rice flour crepe often made in Konkani households of Maharashtra. It is somewhat similar to Neer Dosa but without coconut. Ghavan preparation does not require any fermentation and it can be made quickly. In konkani household, it is a comfort food and also made during festivals like gauri ganpati.
