Bun Tikki is one of the most iconic street food of Dehradun and a must try dish if you happen to be in Dehradun. It is basically aloo tikki put inside the bun with onion slices, curd, masala and chutney. This simple combination of spicy tikki inside sweet bun creates magic in the mouth.

Rajesh Bun Tikki has been operating for the last 35 years in the busy paltan bazaar area of Dehradun. Bun is slightly sweet, tikki is made up of potato with small sprinkling of peas. Bun is cut into 2 halves and stuffed with tikki, curd, onion slices, two types of chutneys (sweet & sour amchoor chutney and green colored spicy pudina dhaniya chutney) and sprinkled wth masala before serving it in leaves. The balance of flavours is perfect (right blend of sweet, sour and spicy) and taste is heavenly.

Rajesh bun tikki has been there in the busy bylanes of Paltan Bazaar since last 35 years. Till few years back it was a small thela, but has now become a proper shop. Run by Rajesh Kumar Prajapati, it dishes out piping hot aloo tikkis and bun tikkis from 3pm to 10:30 pm daily. The taste has remained same for for the last 35 years. Although quite a few bun tikki stalls have sprung up in different parts of Dehradun, Rajesh bun tilli wala has retained its popularity and its loyal customers. Be ready to face long queues specially in the eveinng and on weekends.
