If you have just spent a weekend in Mahabaleshwar or Panchgani and are suffering from all the heavy food you have eaten at your resort, Bandu Gore Bhojanalaya is a perfect option for you. On the way back from Mahabaleshwar, you can stop at Bandu Gore Bhojanalay in Wai. This place is run by a single lady and is a small place but it is almost always crowded and having some waiting at peak times. The food is simple and yet very tasty. It goes light on the stomach and can be considered like home food. They typically have chapati, 2 sabjis, koshimbir, dal, dahi, aachaar, rice etc. Sweets are excellent and though they are charged extra, definitely worth a try. The basic thali is just Rs 180/- (at the time we have tried it) so you can splurge on a dessert or two.

Below are some other good joints that you could try on the way from Pune to Mahabaleshwat or Panchgani –
